Biography

María Magdalena Campos-Pons (1959- ) is a Cuban multidisciplinary artist working across photography, performance, video, and sculpture. Her work explores multicultural identity, gender, religion, history, and identity formation. Much of her work has an autobiographical component, referencing herself and her family's stories.  Campos-Pons received degrees from the National School of Art, Havana (1980) and the Higher Institute of Art, Havana (1985) and attended the MFA program (1988) at the Massachusetts College of Art.
