Biography

Ayo Akingbade (b. 1994, London, UK) is a British-Nigerian filmmaker and artist whose work explores power, place, memory, and the politics of everyday life across Black British and diasporic communities. Working primarily in film, installation, and photography, she is known for a bold, observational style that blends fiction and documentary. Her films examine housing, gentrification, labor, lineage, and the intimate architecture of social life—from East London estates to family homelands in Nigeria.
