Biography

Uzo Egonu (1931–1996) was a Nigerian-born artist who settled in Britain and worked there for most of his career. He is widely acknowledged for merging his Igbo heritage and African visual culture with European modernist idioms—challenging conventional narratives about African art and modernity.
