Biography

Manyaku Mashilo (1991-) is mixed-media South African artist whose work explores themes of ancestry, spirituality, belonging and fantasy. Inspired by archives, she tells fictional stories through her pieces that often offer ideas of a future. Through her work she highlights the richness of African culture and tradition. Her pieces have been showcased throughout South Africa with her work a part of collections in the US, UK, Nigeria and Korea. @manyaku_mash
