Biography

Eva Obodo (b. 1963, Nigeria) is a contemporary Nigerian visual artist whose sculptural-painting practice explores extraction, memory, materiality and repair through fibre and charcoal. Based in Nsukka, Nigeria, his work transforms discarded media such as charcoal fragments, jute and nylon threads via wrapping, bundling and tying into reliefs and freestanding forms. ■ His tactile surfaces evoke socio-political narratives about natural-resource economies, labour, and the architecture of memory.
