Biography

David Hammons (1943-) is an American artist who works to create sculptures, installation art, performance art, and more. He is known for taking inspiration from personal experience as well as providing a platform for the life and experiences of African-American individuals. Hammons creates narratives from important influences in the production of visual art such as Dada and the Black Arts Movement.
