Biography

Qualesha Wood (b. 1996) is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work explores Black womanhood, memory, and the emotional landscapes carried within the body. Working across photography, video, performance, and mixed media, Wood uses gesture, storytelling, and intimate portraiture to examine themes of vulnerability, healing, and visibility. Her practice often engages familial histories and the quiet rituals of daily life, creating images that are tender, atmospheric, and rooted in lived experience. Through her visual language, Wood reframes Black interiority as a site of power, softness, and complexity, inviting viewers to witness narratives that are often overlooked or unspoken.
