Maud Sulter

Maud Sulter (b. September 19, 1960, Glasgow, Scotland – d. February 27, 2008, Dumfries, Scotland) was a Scottish-Ghanaian writer, photographer, fine artist, curator and feminist cultural historian whose practice centred on the visibility of Black women in art, culture and history. She worked across photography, photomontage, writing (poetry and plays), and curatorial projects, combining aesthetic intervention with activist scholarship.
