Biography

Louisiane Saint Fleurant (1924-2005) was a Haitian painter and sculptor. She was one of the founding members of the celebrated Saint-Soleil community of artists in Soisson-la-Montagne. Her paintings centered on motherhood featuring women and children surrounded by plants and animals, together with the figures she sculpted in vibrantly hued clay.
