Biography

Ebony G. Patterson (1981- ) is a Jamaican mixed-media artist. Across media, her works address themes of postcolonial space, visibility and invisibility, regeneration, and mourning. Her work touches on class, race, gender, youth culture, pageantry and acts of violence. The results of these explorations are vibrant and colorful mixed media collages and installations.  Patterson received a BFA from Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2004, and an MFA from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis in 2006.
