Biography

Donald Rodney (1961-1998) was a British artist. Rodney worked across sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, and digital media. He was a leading figure in Britain's BLK Art Group. The BLK Art Group was a collective of young Black artists formed in Wolverhampton in 1982. Whether critiquing or exploring illness, racism, or Black masculinity, Rodney's work was biting and evocative. Rodney completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Multi-Media Fine Art at University College London's Slade School of Fine Art in 1987.
