Christa David

Christa David (born 1979, United States) is an American visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores home, belonging, faith, and identity. Working across painting, collage, and assemblage, David examines Black life, spiritual interiority, and social experience through layered composition, storytelling, and material juxtaposition.  David studied African American Studies at Columbia University and later earned a Master of Public Health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Her work often engages structural racism, power, politics, and the lives of Black and Brown people, using collage, painting, assemblage, and research-driven reflection to consider how bodies and communities exist within and outside spaces made by others and spaces made for themselves.  Their work has been exhibited at 193 Gallery and other contemporary art venues, including recent presentations in Venice and Baltimore. Christa David lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia.
