This exhibition showcases Matloga’s signature practice of combining charcoal, ink, and photographic elements with painterly techniques to construct layered, fragmented domestic interiors. Each composition presents moments of connection, tenderness, and resilience, transforming ordinary spaces into sites of memory, reflection, and storytelling. The works reflect on post-apartheid Black life, capturing both the vulnerabilities and joys of intimate spaces.
