"Selected Prints of Romare Bearden"
This exhibition highlighted Romare Bearden, a pioneering African-American artist known for his collages and photomontages, showcasing his mastery of printmaking and his exploration of Black culture, heritage, and everyday life.

On November 11, 2017, Griots' Gallery, in collaboration with Miami MoCAAD and the Center for Haitian Studies, presented "Selected Prints of Romare Bearden," featuring prints from Bearden’s Odysseus, Jazz, and Prevalence of Ritual series, along with works exploring themes such as Africa, mother and child, and rural life. The exhibition included a conversation with a collector at 2 PM at Griots’ Gallery, 8260 N.E. 2nd Ave., Miami, FL 33138.
Exhibition Description
Selected Prints of Romare Bearden offered Miami audiences an opportunity to experience the artist’s innovative visual storytelling through prints from some of his most celebrated series, including Odysseus, Jazz, and Prevalence of Ritual. Organized in partnership with Miami MoCAAD and the Center for Haitian Studies, the exhibition emphasized Bearden’s influence in contemporary art and his enduring contributions to representing the African-American experience.
