Biography

Nona Faustine (1977-2025) was an American photographer. Early in her career, she focused on documentary photography. She eventually pivoted towards conceptual work focused on the Black female experience and American history.  Faustine received a BFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1997, and an MFA from the International Center of Photography at Bard College in 2013.
