Biography

Nadia Huggins (born 1984, Port of Spain, Trinidad) is a leading contemporary visual artist whose photography and video practice explores the boundaries between land, sea, memory, and the evolving identities of Caribbean youth. Working primarily in the underwater environment, Huggins documents the body in relation to the ocean, capturing moments where vulnerability and transformation collide. Her work investigates themes of belonging, adolescence, ecology, and the inherited mythologies of the Caribbean, often blending documentary clarity with poetic abstraction. Huggins is co-founder of ARC Magazine and has exhibited internationally across the Caribbean, the Americas, and Europe, with her work included in major regional institutions and biennials. She currently lives and works in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
