Maxwell Pearce is a mixed media artist and Harlem Globetrotter whose work interrogates how athletes—and Black athletes in particular—are perceived inside and outside sports. His practice transforms sports materials (like shoelaces, equipment) into textured works that acknowledge athletic achievement while also examining identity, social justice, and agency
