Biography
Lawrence Lemaoana (1982- ) is a South African textile artist. He creates embroidered text with political and social texts on kangas. His work explores the intersection of the mass media and people in South African society. He is also interested in deconstructing myths of masculinity.
Lemaoana received a BFA from the University of Johannesburg in 2004.
