Biography

LaToya Ruby Frazier (1982- ) is an American artist working across photography, video, performance, and installation. The camera is a tool towards social justice and change. Frazier creates her work in collaboration with the communities she works with. Her work documents experiences of postindustrialization, communal history, and workers' rights.  Frazier received her BFA in Photography and Graphic Design from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2004. She received her MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Performing Arts at Syracuse University in 2007.
