Art Connecting Communities
Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora (MoCAAD) commissioned new work by the artist Marielle Plaisir that uses art and technology to convey the rich historical connection between the communities of Overtown and Coral Gables. Context and insights were provided by Historian Dorothy J. Fields.
The project creation process and its extended reality aspects are captured and documented in a short film by Michael Anderson, also available for preview in the Virtual Reality Museum. Coral Gables Museum supported this project as a presenting partner.
