18th International Triennial of Textile: Deconstruction / Reconstruction

The 18th International Triennial of Textile: Deconstruction / Reconstruction continues the Central Museum of Textiles’ historic commitment to presenting innovative and experimental textile art from around the world. This edition examines how artists engage with processes of dismantling and rebuilding—whether materially, conceptually, or symbolically. Through weaving, fiber sculpture, installation, mixed media, and expanded textile practices, participating artists investigate the structural properties of fabric and thread as sites of rupture and repair. By framing textile as both a physical material and a conceptual strategy, the exhibition considers how acts of deconstruction can generate new forms of visibility and meaning. Themes of labor, history, identity, memory, and transformation emerge across the works, positioning textile practice within broader contemporary discourses. As an international platform, the triennial highlights the evolving role of fiber-based art within global contemporary art contexts. Presented at the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, Poland, the exhibition runs through April 12, 2026, reinforcing the museum’s role as a leading institution for textile innovation and research.
